About Us

We are David and Ann and we first met in 2001 in Yorkshire when we were both self employed artists selling through a dedicated local Arts & Crafts Shop and at Arts & Crafts Fairs and Agricultural Shows.

David, a traditional Landscape Photographer published a range of postcards, greetings cards and calendars distributed widely through shops in Yorkshire, Northumberland and Cumbria. Ann, a Watercolour Artist and sculptor specialising in animal studies, also had a range of animal and vintage tractor greetings cards which were distributed widely through retail outlets.

When we moved to Northumberland, we had grant funding to build a studio in our garden.
We called ourselves ‘Waymark Studio’ and continued to sell our Art and Photography.
from our own premises and through Open Studios, Arts and Craft Fairs and Agricultural Shows.
Several years ago we changed direction from contemporary arts to buying and selling Antiques and Collectables that we liked and had collected over the years.
We re-named the studio ‘The Shed on the Hill’ which it is....on a Hill!
In The Shed on the Hill Ann has a small area set up as a workspace to repair and restore any damaged toys or pictures that we have bought.
The rest of The Shed on the Hill is set up as a Showroom and Storage area for the amazing and wonderful selection of items that we have and take to the Antiques Fairs or sell on line through our online shop. Outside The Shed on the Hill we have a dedicated space for Architectural Antiques, planters, feed troughs, signs, garden benches etc...a second Small Shed for garden tools and furniture. A small selection of our current stock for sale is shown on our Category Pages
